The GPS signal is better with a clear sky. High altitude obstacles can block the line of sight between the device and the satellite, which can generate errors in the geolocation.
This is why the GPS is solely fit for an outside use. The indoor GPS signal is significantly lower, which makes it very difficult to get an accurate geolocation.
